The third print in our baby loss awareness series is the print titled  'Fly high little one'.

People who lose a child or baby often look for hope or comfort, whether it is a sign, a memory or a personal possession. Whether we believed in it or not, my wife and I found comfort in white feathers and butterflies at the time, as a sign that our little boy was around us. Some people may find it as a load of nonsense but if it helps people get through the pain and grief, then maybe there is no harm in finding comfort in things, if it helps cherish the memory of a loved one.

Butterflies have a magical quality to them. They appear so delicate and fragile, much like fairies dancing on the breeze. But these beautiful creatures do more than just look pretty and pollinate flowers. Some people see them as wonderful spiritual and take huge comfort from them.

We had chosen the stunning butterfly to convey our message of hope to grieving families.

People may perceive this image in a variety of ways, some people may see the hands releasing the butterfly as releasing a spirit, or others may see it as letting their child or baby's memory rest at peace. It could also be a symbol of letting go of the grief and positively moving forward with life whilst at the same time never forgetting their memory.

Each print, includes a message or iconic image which we feel may help grieving families. Through being actual victims of losing a child we have created 3 prints that we feel, may help parents through their pain and struggles.

This subject is very close to our hearts here at Mad March Hares after my wife and I lost our beautiful son Oscar who sadly passed away only 21 hours old. The pain and grief we felt as a couple and as parents will never be forgotten, and will probably never pass, but it has shaped our future. It  has made us stronger as a couple and more importantly as parents to our gorgeous girls. So we finally approached Sands and asked them if we could help support their fantastic charity, as their care and support was really helpful.

We are now proud to announce that we are supporting Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. With each baby loss awareness print we will be making a 20% donation to Sands to help them support similar couples like ourselves, aswell as help their research to understand the causes of baby deaths and save babies' lives.

Every day in the UK, 14 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth. Sands is the leading stillbirth and neonatal death charity and exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth.

Sands provides bereavement support services both nationally through its Freephone helpline, mobile app, online community and resources, and locally through a network of regional support groups based across the UK and run by trained befrienders.

Sands works in partnership with health care professionals, trusts and health boards and offers a range of training programmes and bereavement care resources to ensure that every bereaved parent and family receives the best possible care wherever they are in the UK.

Sands promotes and funds research to better understand the causes of baby deaths and save babies’ lives. The charity raises awareness of baby loss and works with governments, key influencers and other stakeholders to make reducing the number of babies dying a priority nationally and locally.
